i used to use msgr plus 2.5, but when msgnr 6 came out i installed it and then uninstalled msgr plus. problem is that msngr plus is still starting up on its own everytime i log into the internet. if someone uses my comp to sign into a different mngr account, or i'm on the net and not signed in it shown me as logged in as well even when i'm not around. how can i get rid of this msgr 2.5 so i can stop being in more than one place at any time and also so people don't think i'm logged in when really i'm not???
i use windows XP, msgr 6, and i'm assuming its msgr plus 2.5 but i did have the very first version installed in the beginning.

what is starting is Windows Messenger, that comes with XP.  Check this post

you can still check this thread in case you have still problems however, i don't think that's the problem

but i have unactivated messenger in the windows installed componants? i get signed in even with that unchecked, and msgr 6 uninstalled.......
i can't write or recieve but from someone elses computer it looks as though i am signed in?

There's an option to disable this in General settings for MSN Messenger if you use XP you can do this easily and it applies to a different setting for every user.
