Now that Fraisie is no longer known as PiratesOfTheCarribean (when did that change? ), I don't think anyone would be affected by changing the limit to 17.  Perhaps that is the best limit?

17 is the best age IMO... therefore the best num of characters to use.

Well, even if I set the limit to 3, it would only apply when registering... if you already have a long name, you can keep it.
