When you enter a birthday prior to 31st December 1969 in your user cp, the date 31st December 1969 will be displayed in the profile no matter if you were born somewhere in September 1950, July 1933 or February 1944; the date of birth will just show 31st December 1969

while I had entered 4th August 1905 as my birthday.

That's a limitation of php, I believe, it revolves around the unix epoch, 01/01/1970 00:00:00

To fix this would be to rewrite the php date() function, which is not only fiddly but hard on the server

The important thing is that the age is correct...
