And you have to always remember that:

Well if patchou made his own software and then he can have all those Great features in Messenger Plus now into his own Messenger software!

Here is a small example what Patcho could do!! and yes I know the screenshot isn't the greatest at all!! lol But it's just to give an idea to those small brain people out there to see what it might look like LOL

That looks worse than MSN Messenger, with no new features.

Now that the GUI is made, let's see a few thousand lines of example C++ code for this new messenger...

Seriously, this project would be way too complex.

why bother when he can just make a legal program to improve MSN Messenger, which is not only alot easier, but alot cheaper ...

If patchou would do it ok I would use it i guess.
But stil it ain't easy and hasn't got a lot of use.
Patchou has made a great program with plus! and that's enough. Who needs another messenger? There are a huge number of messengers all with a big company behind it and lot's of people working on it. An example who in hell uses Bravenet Messenger? Almost nobody. That's what would happen if Patchou made a messenger, who needs a new messenger? Everybody uses MSN or ICQ and others like that. It costs a lot an has totaly no use.

If Patchou made his own Messenger service, his workload would increase many times. He is already working on Plus as much as possible. Plus is only as good as it is, because a lot of work is already done for Patchou by Microsoft. It would be a near impossible undertaking for just one man to do it all.

Also as stated before, there would be very few people actually using it. I wonder, what real problems do you have with Microsoft and MSN Messenger as it currently stands?

I think he only has a problem with it going down, a lot which doesnt really.

However, wouldnt it be really cool if someone made a p2p messenger service.

It could be like KaZaA sorta, ppl with fast computers and internet connections become servers, they search for servers and connect to them, and so all of the servers are connected together.
Then when u connect, u only search for one server, and u get connected to that server, and to see if sum1 is online, u just send a message  to ur server, which relays the search accross all of the other servers.

Far fetched, time consuming, bandwidth consuming, i know. However it would be sooooo coooool

I think the idea of a plus messenger would be cool, although time-consuming, expensive and pointless(we have msn, why do we need plus messnger).
However, i would download a plus messenger if it could connect to msn and have it's own plus network. For example plus features disabled on it's msn(because anyone with plus would have the messenger).
P2P wouldn't be a bad idea. But IF he makes his own network what would stop that from going down? A dedicated support team?

It's very difficult to decide. I won't force him to do it, but if he makes one, i'll be like !WAHEY!

You cant force a man, who putshis heart and soul into making something for an income. We're not his boss, we are the customer's. How many other people do you know that do something when the money doesnt come first?
