I'm sorry I have to disagree. You can reinstall .74, exit Messenger, move your clock 8 days ahead, restart Messenger, signin and wait 5 min to get the update message. You'll then see that nothign is done silently

that is kinda my point my dear patchou, you shouldnt need to do a few changes to things to fix problems.. they shouldnt be like, should be nicely automated for you but anyways, doesnt matter now

if this hasnt been said, how about a window before the sponser box with an alert:
ALERT
the next option is just that, OPTIONAL
you DO NOT have to choose 'yes'

I just pointed out a way to see by yourself that the auto-update gives you the same choices than normal installation. Both my instaklelr and my uninstaller are fully automated and do not require anything from you but two or three button clicks .

Eh, no
By setting the clock ahead eight days you activate the auto-update function. As you installed an older version, it will now detect the new one and you can see the update version is the same as the file you download from the site.
