After downloading and installing messenger plus 3...the program no longer loads with MSN messenger (6.2.0133) at windows startup...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs numerous times to no avail...

When I reinstall the 2 programs...plus initially loads with messenger but after a shutdown/restart...plus is no longer available with messenger...nor is it in the listed processes of the task manager however it is listed for startup under the registry key - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I am presented with no error messages at any time...

When I go to the messenger plus directory and attempt to load msgplus.exe...the program seems to load and shows in listed running processes for a very brief moment and then shuts itself down...

Very confused...any suggestions would be helpful...

Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1.2600 (SP1)
Intel Celeron processor 1.07 GHz
Memory (RAM) 256 MB

When Plus! initially loads, can you try to check the box "Force Messenger Plus! to load when computer starts" in the Preferences? It's in the General options > Miscellaneous section.

It's an option in the Preferences; you say

Didn't mean that to seem harsh...I apologize...

I have no way of loading it at this point other than a complete uninstall/reinstall...

Any ideas on how to force it to load at this time...

Well, do the complete reinstall and try checking it then?

Will do...do you think that just uninstalling/reinstalling the plus will be sufficient or do I need to do both...

Just reinstalling Messenger Plus! should do; otherwise, try both.

Excellent...didn't even see that option before...

just one thing more:
in which account (of windows xp) are you trying to install it and with which account are you trying to execute it? have those accounts admin rights? or are they guests or normaul users?

I guess that option to 'force' was just an oversight...
