I was curious as to whether or not the features of MSN Plus! work with regular MSN users. Like say for example I am using version 6.0 of MSN without the plus software on my computer, and you send me a message with the emoticons and funny looking fonts that come with Plus. Will they show up on my computer?

As a side note, is it possible to get user-created emoticons to show up in areas other than the text window? Like say for example you change your MSN screen name to , it will show up when you sign in or at the top of the dialog box. It doesn't seem to do that for user-created ones though.

1st let me say its not Msn Plus that is a totaly different program... Its  Messenger Plus..The answer to your first question is yes..Without messenger plus your fonts,custum emotions ect will show without msg plus...The answer to your second question is no, that has something with the way that the protocol works with msn's servers... Hope this helps

Ehm; the real answer is, custom emoticons, as they are an MSN Messenger feature, will show up, but things like colours etc, which are strickly Plus! features, just like some plugins provide, won't.
It's not easy to give a simple answer to your question since every feature Plus! provides is kind of diffrent in this, some require Plus! some don't.
The best way to answer your question would be, anything that the native MSN Messenger supports, will show up. (Ie. Away messages to you from Plus! users, since they're simply messages, added emoticons, etc..)

A quick list about what things are and aren't the same without plus:

Colors, text formatting, sounds, most plugins, the duel egg, pings, commands like /noicon and /noformat, will NOT work if the contact hasn't got Plus.

/me command, automessages (includes come back messages) and personalised status will be shown a bit diferent if the contact doesn't have plus.

quick texts (as long they don't contain the things of before), quick icons, share files (includin plus itself), some plugins, commands like (!WAT), (!IP), (!N), etc..., word filters, autoaccept requests, the quote sender feature (except for the colors), messages sent when entering and leaving boss mode, messages sent with /all, and the features that don't imply sending a message (like commands /away, /brb, etc..., loggin, custom names, etc...) will work even if the contact doesn't have plus installed.

But this doesnt matter, because you're telling everyone to get Msg. Plus!? right?
