Being able to rename your contacts in the contact list is great, thats actually why I use the software.
The problem is, when you rename them, they are not sorted alphabetically.  There should be some kind of "Sort by name" or "Sort Alphabetically" feature so all your contacts can be displayed nice and clean without being all scrambled up.

Can this be done?  If not I think it should be implemented.

that can't be done, tho its been requested many times.

Plus! actually doesn't  change the contact name, but edits what Messenger displays as the email adress, and Messenger sorts the list by email adress.

yeah i got a problem like that i had one custom name and it sorted them by emails all of them! and it didnt show emotions in manes as well im not sure y is that normal so i had to delete that rename

This is correct: you should think of it like this:
Messenger shows the email addresses and sorts them (the email addresses) in alphabetical order. However, somewhere along the road Plus! jumps in and renames the email addresses, without changing the sorting order.

Yes, this is normal: Messenger still sees the custom names as email addresses, knows that an email address cannot contain emoticons and therefore doesn't show them.

You can:

• make custom names without emoticons and use them in conversation windows
• learn to live with it
• disable custom names

It's just a matter of personal preference what you want: do you prefer the emoticons, or the custom names?

i stick with ther proper names becauce i liek having emotions in names and i liek them sorted in name order instead of email so ill keep it how it is notrmally
