when i try to patch it it says file not found or cannot open file

but what i notice was that the patch says msnmsgr.exe

and mine says msmgs

u can chose the file to patch, it should have said something like couldn't find file (well mind did) it then gave me the option to select the file to patch

if not the CrystalMSN-620133 skin change has a build in pacth, this will change you msn skin tho, so if u don't like the look of it don't install it.

yeah i did that and then it said it couldn't open it or windows is allready using it

it gave both reasons

since i had closed msn off windows wasn't using it

press "ctrl+alt+delete" go to processes. end msnmsgr.exe if it is running. and then try installing the patch

p.s. u do want to apply the patch to "msnmsgr.exe" not "msmsgs.exe"

i have got a file called "msmsgs.exe" in my msn folder

msmsgs.exe is Windows Messenger (comes with Windows XP, latest version is 4.7).
msnmsgr.exe is MSN Messenger (for all Windows versions, latest version is 6.2)

Huh? No, it's usually "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" and MSN Messenger is "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe"

it has worked now, i just assumed the folder above my plus folders was MSN and not windows messenger

didn't even think of that one

the patch did work now i selected the right msn
