O.P. Why do I not have java on my pc
Shouldn't it come with windows cos mine hasn't? And because I don't know whats the best java vm can someone please post the link to the best one?

Java vm is from Sun. So I don't see the point in adding it to Windows. Same as Windows doesn't come with Flash player... : 
Hm... the best one?

It is infact illegal for MS to distribute a JavaVM I think now. Anyway, since Sun wrote the language, their VM should be the best. I'd rather go with that than one from MS, which would have all its security holes exposed within a month.

Here u can get wichever Java u want (Sun or microsoft's):

Edit: note, there are still sites with java-applets that do not work/load with Sun's Java (example: yahoo's game site).

Let me guess: that site was done in FrontPage... oh yes, FP6.0.
Anyway, I would still recommend going with Sun's JVM, as that will actually get updated.

Ok, and yahoo games is what reminded me to download java lol, but I'll still download sun's one because its got much more of a positive response.

If there are applets that don't work, its because they do not conform to the Java standard by relying on proprietry extensions.
