This is probably very easy to do if you can write plugin's so I'm officially gonna make this a request without feeling guilty about it.

Basically, my name on messenger is:
Mushroom_Man - <quote>
where <quote> is an actual quote

What I want, is a plugin which changes that quote every time i log in/turn on messenger, to a random one from a list or text file or something.

Please don't tell me I can do this with Quick Texts, because with quick texts it won't be automated, nor will it be random, nor will teh list be long enough

Anyone care to take up the challenge? Please? Pretty please?

Nice one, thanks. Having said that, you might wanna write that as a full blown plugin (in breaks when writing SPNG), seeing as demand has already exceeded one person

As an afterthought (and this is why I'm double posting it), is there any way i can use my own list of quotes with that program?

m_m: yes you can, if you can program. I think it's even possible using a batch file !!

m_e (yes, I am using that out of spite ): Therein lies the problem - I can't program at all. And I don't see how it would be possible using a batch file, if the prog sticks on a quote to the specified text instead of just changing your nick to the specified.

Dempsey did make something similar...
It was changing your name to a random quote every minute...
It was getting on my nerves...

M_M: i don't know batch either, but it has IF, so it should be possible. but it's completed in a half an hour in VB
