O.P. Bufer overrun detected!
Greetings:

I have installed Windows XP Home Edition (with all updates), MSN Messenger 6.2 (last version) and the last MSN Plus!.

I can run MSN Messenger and MSN Plus! until a chat window of MSN Messenger is open.

When that happen, appear a window saying:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Bufer overrun detected!

Program: C:\Archivos de programa\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

A bufer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The Program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

Ok"

What can I do?

I hope your fast answer.

This is going to sound silly, but do you have any Plugins for Plus! installed? If so, try ending the Process of MsgPlus.exe and msnmsgr.exe and run MSN Messenger by itself and see if you get the same error.

To end a process hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and click the Processes tab and click the process in the list and hit the End Process Button.

I tried to help this person in the IRC spanish channel....here's some things he told me and missed in his message....

He didn't had any plugin installed, and when he unistalled Plus, the messenger worked fine...he told me that he tried reinstalled plus, but with the same results...

he mentioned that he can start his session (log in), but when he tried to open a chat window thats when the problem happen...

PS... Im just as surprised as you that Im posting in the Help & Support forum... :|

I'm afraid that the only one who could provide a solution is Patchou himself, because no tester has ever heard of this failure and it has never been reported. :-/

Greetings:

Thanks for all your comments.

I don't have skins installed or uninstalled.

That's it... Thank you very much!
