Does anyone know how to make your display name different colours as i lost the code on how to do it...........

use the Color Nick 2 plugin found here

Or you could do...Open a conversation, type /nick , then hit CTRL K and pick your color hit the space bar and then type your name and then when your done hit the enter buttton and it will give you your color name. Hope this helps.
