When you play a song it doesnt play on one side right?

If you went to play a song now would it start off playing and then stop.

Or would it just not play on the onside at all anymore, because  if this is the case it could mean that the wires for the left speakers may be broken somwhere along the line

Some computers have sound cards, some have onboard sound chips, some have both.
I had the same problem with my old computer but i never soloved it, but hitting the speakers worked sometimes:).
Try just plugin your head phones into your computer, insted of through the speakers.
If it works then that means it a falt in your speakers.
Other wise its a sound card problem.
You can tell if you have a sound card or on boarde sound by looking at the back of your computer, and if the plug for the speakers is on a panel that is horizontal, then its a card.
If the plug is amoung all the USB sockets and printer sockets and PS/2 keybored sockets then its onboard.

the music just played through the right speaker, and in sterio songs it would just play the right part.
as i said, the problem occured on both in the speakers and earphones, so it won't have been speaker wires. and also, this is my familly pc, and my dad wouldn't appreciate the idea of me opening it up, even if just checking stuff.
And further, the problem has fixed it's self! i played some music and now it's fine!
nothing lost nothing gained
hopefully it won't happen again.

Were the earphones pluged into the speakers, or directly into the computer.
