fifa 96 and Super mario Bros.

Absolute favorite: Super Metroid.
2nd: MK 3 and Alien 3.
3rd: Fifa 96.

I buy most of them 2nd hand on eBay, but are there any online shops where you can get the originals at a cheap price?

Well I guess my favorite would be Super Mario RPG.  I always play that game.  Mario games rule SNES and NES, and then Donkey Kong comes second in the list for me. 

There are so many.... probably Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 (Secret of Mana and it's sequel, not released outside Japan). But the list is certainely not exaustive, the SNES has some of the best games ever created.

Ohhh I forgot Super Metroid! That was hard
