recently I've got this problem of my MSN Messenger to start as freezed , until Messenger Plus has started! simply on the Start-up (every Start-up) my MSN Messenger 6.2 starts first, but it's frezed until MEssenger plus has started! before this problem , Messenger plus used to start before MSN messenger that's why it was okay, but now MSN starts first and ya .....

does anyone know how can i make MEssenger plus to start before MSN Messenger? *note that "force MEssenger plus to start on startup" does not help the problem, neither does disabling it.

you could goto messenger options and select dont load at start up, then once your computer is fully booted, load messenger.  i had this problem before.

i did that but it's not helping me! MSN starts freezed for about 15 seconds its freezed until Messenger plus has started. i tried reinstalling MSN Messenger and Messenger plus but it didnt help either. does anyone know a way to fix this?

You got XP SP2 installed ke3p_up? I have, and I get that problem. Not tracked it down definately yet though.

yes i actually do have Sp2. i never had this problem until i upgraded to SP2 u know! and today after hours playing around to fix this problem i found out that no matter when Messenger plus starts, either before MSN Messenger , or after MSN Messenger, it still causes MSN Messenger to completely freeze for about 20 seconds, sometimes causes it to crash and other times just never respondes and stays freeze! i hope PAtchou would look at this cause i dont seem to be able to fix this myself.

I'm sure Patchou is looking at this, that is if he knows about it.
Microsoft must have changed the way the startup sequence works, or something similar, to cause this problem with Plus.

I think I have an idea on the question... I may have found a possible fix... Please check if you have the shortcuts plugin for MSGPlus! If so, remove it and try relaunching MSN again.

Step 1: Shut down both Messenger & Messenger Plus! (Messenger plus can be shut down with the task manager)

Step 2: Navigate to your plugins folder (Default: C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3\Plugins)

Step 3: Check if you have a file named ShortcutPlug.dll. If so, either rename the extention or move it out of the plugins folder.

Step 4: Restart Messenger Plus! & MSN Messenger and check if it works better.
