In one of Patchous posts located here, he said he would add back the Tree View if it was wanted. Now many people may not remember the Tree View but it was the options from Plus! Version 2.

Now this Poll is weather Patchou should add a registry entry to allow a Tree View to be shown instead of the Convential GUI that we see now. Now the Tree View is for more advanced users because features are not easily accessible (thats why the new GUI was created). Please if you truly want the tree view back vote yes, if you don't vote no, if you dont care at all, please dont vote and ruin it.

On the contrary, I find that the old tree view was more accessible than the new one. So I vote yes

Even for advanced use, I find the current GUI good as it is. Besides the only difference is that you could access subpanels directly, which isn't really something advanced; I mean, it isn't a feature which advanced users couldn't do without.

Furthermore, I'm thinking about the translations! yes, this should also be considered. Many translations are just-fit in the current GUI, turning this back to a tree-view may result in either an ugly look because the exact same length/spaces should be used for the titles or more added translations especially for the tree-view...

As much as I didn't liked the new GUI in the beginning, I like it now. And that's all because of the "getting use to" factor. It hasn't anything todo with more advanced or not IMHO....

Also think about the additional code needed for this and thus the extra bytesize of the setup (which Patchou so wants to keep down for good reasons) for this special feature which only a handfull will use....

As a translator I can't keep from agreeing with Cookie in this point (and well, in the others too, but specially this one).

Patchou said he would add it if there was a convincing poll thus I made a poll... its just not so convincing so far.

Yes and I totally agree that it would add more bytes seeing how he tries to limit the size. Its just an alternative to the GUI, I mean like you during beta testing i have grown to like the GUI but I found the tree view more advanced so to speak. That was the reason why Patchou had the GUI created was to group features together. (users didn't know what all were and so on.)

indeed patchou wants to keep the file size as limited as possible but it will rease within the years with al the new features he wants to add or the suggestions that people want to see in the new versions so finally it will rease the bitesize
