If you are using Windows XP this technique will
only work if you are not using a 3rd Party application to skin Windows. (Style XP, Windows Blindes, etc)
The file you are adding into the MSN Messenger directory (usually C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger) must be a gif file.
The name of the file must be LVBACK.gif (all lower case letters tho)
Close the main contact window and reopen it. It should work if now then you might have just saved a picture to a gif extension.
