and it may seem like a bit of a silly question. but how do u know he has actually hacked it ? and not just said he has. has he changed/delete anything or owt like that  ?

that's probably it...

*ahem* I know he actually hacked it because he then used a password recovery system on the forum I am an admin of to get my forum password then take screenshots of my admin CP. I thought he was tricking me though, so he changed his group to admin and gave himself privilages. I know that it was him because I'm the only admin. He admitted to it after.

Has this guy ever had access to your PC?

If so, he may have got any auto complete passwords by using programs available on the net. I know this because I got all my auto complate passwords up and deleted them and any internet history using this program.

IE doesn't clear all you history. So I advise you check your PC using a program like this.

Goto "NirSoft" (use google to find site address) and look for "Protected Storage PassView". It will show anything history left on your PC that IE has left.

You may find other good programs on there. By all means check them out too.

Also from now make sure you don't save any auto completes (eg forms etc). Goto Tools, Internet Options, Content, Auto Complete.

Apart from that, if there is anything else, I'll get back to you 2moro.

Someone of these forums sent me an .exe and they could acess these forums because i have my password saved i know who it is too by the way.

Well the harm is done just dont commit the same erors never accept something from that guy anymore or trust him..

i think it was prob the secret question thing ive known someone have their hotmail hacked that way.


i had someone try that on my yahoo account but it failed cus yahoo just emailed me a new password to my other email account......

hey!

one easy way to hack ur forums and emails is sending u a keylogger. that's pretty easy. u can put one into an image file, then it runs on the background and it can send emails with the logs to the email of the hacker. then u just need to check the logs for the logins and passwords

if u dont have an anti-virus or a spyware detection tool ur just a lamb in the middle of an african savanna

another reason may be the hotmail's changing passwords with the "secret question" wich is not that secret cause if u know where the contact is from u dont even need to know wich is the right question, u just need to guess the answer.

another way maybe be hacking ur forum and if u have an old version that is also very easy, and if u use the same passwords both on the email and forum login... u know what that means.
try to have ur forum version updated, install and anti virus like avast! 4 and periodically run an  ad-awarescan that should solve ur problems, and btw dont forget to have a working firewall
