O.P. Bug with sound and router!!
Hi,
i've notice a bug when using Messenger Plus behind a router.
In fact, my correspondant can't hear me, and connection is very long.
I tried to stop Messenger Plus and just use msn and all is working perfectly! No sound problem and connection is very quick.
The problem is the same with videoconf. but video works well. It's just a sound problem.
Perhaps it's a problem with the Upnp of the router and MsgPlus. (I'm sure that it's come from MsgPlus).

RE: Bug with sound and router!!
LOL, if that's true now i know why yesterday I only see my sister and we couldn't talk, i'm behind a router, but i never thought it was for plus, I don't thing plus has nothing to do with this. it has to be something else, becouse plus doesn't use proxy a nothing like that.
Let's wait to see what happend with the thread

I agree with you that it's strange that it's plus fault, but i made the test just to see what hapen ant result is here.
Can you try to make videoconference with and without plus and tell the result!

RE: Bug with sound and router!!
i can really say that these results are helpful, but heres what happened to me
msn w/ plus = no sound
msn w/o plus = sound
2 hours later
msn w/ plus = no sound
msn w/o plus = no sound
15 mins later
msn w/ plus = no sound
msn w/o plus = no sound
10 mins later
msn w/ plus = no sound
msn w/o plus = sound

RE: Bug with sound and router!!
I almost got the same problem.
I have an D-Link 604 router which are connected with two computers. Computer no 1 has MSN 6.2 with Plus! installed. Computer no 2 has MSN 6.2 without Plus! installed. On computer no 2 there is no problem to run MSN, everything works perfectly, but on computer no 1 with Plus! installed it is not working.
When you log in on the Messenger Plus! on computer no 1 all Internet traffic on both computers stops, but as soon you turn Messenger Plus! off Internet working again without problem.
I think the problem must be Plus! in some way. Or maybe it is the Computer itself (Computer no 1)? But the strange thing is that MSN 6.2 works perfectly on the computer with Plus! NOT installed.

RE: Bug with sound and router!!
This seems unlikely. Plus! only hooks into MSN Messenger it doesn't alter any connection settings in any way. And certainly doesn't alter audio\video chats.
Perhaps somehow when Plus hooks in the router no longer recognises Messenger audio and video chat. But from everything I know of how Plus! works, this seems impossible...It doesn't even act as a proxy...let alone do anything with settings to the router...

RE: Bug with sound and router!!
I think itīs strange that it works on one computer (without Plus!) and not with the computer with Plus!. The two computers are connected to the same router and no computer got any "special treatment" in the router configuration.
I will try to uninstall MSN on the computer where it is not working and try just install MSN without Plus! and see how itīs working. Then I can see whatīs happening.
