O.P. Personalized Status
I was curious if anyone knows how to change the tag style of your "status"

Mine shows as, for example

Tre {watching tv}

is there some place/method of changing the brackets so that it would look like

Tre (watching tv)

Thanks in advance!

RE: Personalized Status
This cannot be done. Messenger Plus! interpretes the { and } as the beginning and the end of a status tag. Now, say you change your status to Away and use the personalised status "Fishing", you will see your nickname as
Normal name {Fishing} (Away)
on the top of the contact list.

Someone with Messenger Plus! installed will see
Normal name (Fishing)
in their contact list, where (Fishing) will replace the (Away).
You can test this by adding yourself to your contact list.

Someone without Messenger Plus! installed will indeed see
Normal name {Fishing} (Away)

That's why it needs to use { and } :)

Well, at least for me, they do appear as (watching tv). It even takes out the real status. The { } will be shown when you talk to a person but on the list they will show it with ( ).

Tip: Add yourelf to your list to see how your nick looks (y)
