There are threads about problems with big disp.pics and how to turn it off, but how do you turn them on!? the Plugin i found only works with a former Messenger build. So how do you do it?

The plugin you need is StuffPlug-NG.

If you or your contacts use MSN Messenger 7, then you need the DEV version of StuffPlug-NG. (DEV = developer version, meaning still worked upon so not completely done and may contain bugs and can be unstable. This version is even prior to an alpha version!). Also note that both contacts need StuffPlug-NG DEV in order to see the enlarged display picture when using MSN Messenger 7.

Thanks CookieRevised and sorry for being lame. Of course i heard of StuffPlug before, just didn't know it has this feature as well.
