A friend of mine said something about a prog that generates a window everytime someone doubleclicks on your nickname in their list.

Is there really something like this? If so, where can I find it?

yup, they are called "open windows notifiers" or something like that: a list of them can be found here:
"CookieRevised's reply to How can you see if someone opens your conversation box"

But take in account that all those notifiers will not work properly anymore when the contact or you are using MSN Messenger 7 Beta.
