q1: Is there a feature such as chat-only name (as in SPNG) so that on other contact's list the name does not appear in code? It would be cool to be able to do this. Will it work if I paste the code into SPNG's chat-only name? (I cannot see the code button. see q3)

q2: how do the names apear in the chat window when the contact does not have plus?

q3: when I go into the prefferences of colornick (via msgplus plugins configure button) I dont get the show code button but only the 2 tabs for nick and text coloring. (is there an / command?) See attachment please.

a1: no, use SP-NG for the chat-only names and it will work if you paste the code in.

a2: probably like this, for example "Andreyblablabla" would look like this: "·$4Andrey·$9bla·$12bla·$8bla·0"

a3: you can see the code when you open a conversation window and enter /xcolornick. "Show Code"-button at the topright.
Also try the commands in the "conversation window" -> "Plus!" -> "Plugins" -> ColorNickv2" they are quite useful

A validation code is not required to install ColorNick. It is only needed when you wish to install StuffPlug NG. Although StuffPlug NG can also install this plugin during installation, you can very well download ColorNick separately.

To  obtain the validation code for StuffPlug NG, go to http://www.stuffplug.com/?act=generate and enter the code you see in the installation program. Click Generate and your code will be made.

If you enabled it you should know how to disable it, since it's disabled by default


anyway, here is what to do:

- in a conversation window, click Plus! -> Plugins -> ColorNick v2 -> Configure...
- uncheck the 2 checkboxes at the top of the window (see screenshot in attachment)
- click Close
- in a conversation window, type /xcolornick and press Enter
-> now you can edit your nickname normally

I know this auto-coloration feature is quite confusing, I'll make things clearer in ColorNick v3 (yes, I finally decided to start working on v3 - not v2.1 or 2.5 as I said some time ago )

I can't give any release date for the moment, I've just started working on it . It'll be in 2005.
