I would so use this option! It looks amazing, I love it like this, patchou, you could possible change the height of the preferences panel slightly or something .

great idea =D hope it goes well, maybe add an option to have it go down to 0% opacity? or better yet have a slider AND a numerical way to set opacity

There's no point in having it go down to 0% opacity, that would just be the same as minimizing it.
