Some of my friends' nicknames say 'Cocas' can I change it?

What do you mean ?
If you mean how you can change your contact's nickname, that's not possible.
If you mean how you can change your nickname, go, in the contacts list, on "Tools" --> "Options" and type your name in the textbox. This box is disabled if you haven't verified your e-mail address.

If you have Messenger Plus! you can rename your contacts by right clicking on their name in your contact list. Then click Messenger Plus! Extras and finally Rename Contact...
