If i send a chat log that has a password does my friend have to use my chat log password or their chat log password?

yours, because that is the password that the logs are encrypted with.

If you password protect any file at all and then send it to another person that person has to know the password you set for it to view it


i hope that makes it more clear

you can decrypt the chat log (by entering your password) and save the file that is opened elsewhere, then send that file.
