I just analyzed the access log, and found that on our first day on the new server, we wasted 5.2 GB of bandwidth!

30375 visits, average 21099 hits per hour.

The top bandwidth wasters (in order) were msnbot.msn.com, Tochjo, AndreY, WDZ, and paperless.

I love stats.

You're not including the bandwidth I blew off transfering the database, I bet I wated more then any of them

I might change the A name record to point to the IP here, but otherwise the sstandard Apache redirect  have in place on Wj's server is working effectively.

However I have to say that the new url is quite dodgy , and even more without the www. Well, I think Ill have to get used to it

what if someone clicks on a link from an old topic, that is like shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=696969, will it change it to msghelp.net/showthread.php?tid=696969 or just make a 404 error?

I dunno whether its the new domain name / server or what but look at the no of users online right now.

mmm... you could at least have had msgplus in the URL not it doesnt really sound related....
