This seems to happen when you get disconnected AND are in boss protection mode:

Did the window reappear automatically when you went offline?

What happened was my internet connection went down for a while, so MSN was forced offline. I think that's a bit of a security problem...

Well, what I mean is: before you got disconnected, were the floating window hidden? and when you got disconnected, did they re-appear immediately without any action in Messenger from your part?

I'm asking because you say you were using boss protection but the icon of your Messenger in the taskbar doesn't seem to be changed.

This also happens with me, when suddenly my internet connection turns off, the desktop contacts are still there

And Patchou, i think he means that when you use Boss protection, the desktop contacts are still showing, instead of dissapear.

I don't remember completly, but I think my connection dropped then I went out of boss protection and there they were.

As I just replied in another thread, it's fixed!
