ok so to cut a long story short, an accident happened and i spilt a bit of beer over my laptop... whats worse is it went into the fan grate bit at the top.

it's ok.. it turns on and everything...

but the keyboard seems to be totally messed up... when i first turned it back on... certai keys gave responses like ==++kkyok (sumthing similiar)... now when i turn on it seems like lots of keys r pressing, including num lock... and it's opening prperty windows for like display etc..

is there anyone who's ever experienced this? or any1 who knows anything to do?

don't think they is much u can do, expect wide it witha damp cloth !! and just wait for it to all dry out

it only does it for letters on the top row though so i dont tink it's shorted out could be wrong... what do u think?

If its just the keyboard use a ps/2 one?

You may have damaged the membrane pouring beer onto it (membrane is the pressure pad underneath the keys on the keyboard)  I'd recommend having it repaired professionally if its insured for accidental damage.

Hope everything works out for you (Oh and remember to back up all your data, to university onto Cd or to another data storage device, immediatly incase anything goes wrong)

well thanks... as far as i can see now its all ok... if i had plugged in a ps2 keyboard... wud it have taken prescidence over the built in one then?

backed up everything other than the 10gb of music and 30gb of videos... cud take a while to transfer lol...
