I burned a homemovie I had from a dvd to my hd to edit it but now how do I burn it back to a blank dvd using nero 6?

You can create an image file, such as an .iso file.

If it is an .iso file then open nero, select "burn image" and then search your HDD for the iso file.

And that will preserve the dvd so I can play it on a standard dvd player?

should do if  it's an iso file i think

Depends on the DVD players. Some players don't play burned DVDs, but to make sure you get best performance you should use a DVD+R, not a DVD-R.

I have a DVD-r and it works fine.  The DVD is 4 gig but the ISO program in Nero won't create it sais it's to big

Do you have it in DVD mode? (there should be an option at the top, right corner of the window)...

Nero burning rom 6.x - go into DVD move then burn ISO.
