I have .0632, but didn't download it from MSN.com -- from various mirror sites on the net, and it was available long ago.

After reading this thread I downloaded the beta from messenger.msn.com, and the installation aborted saying it couldn't install an older version over the current one.

Jep, it's just because your Build is newer (higher) than the 405/409 Build.
Just deinstall your current Version, and then reinstall. (But it's a little bit dumb to do this, why downgrade to a MSN Messenger Version with less features?)


And the 632 Build isn't on the off. MSN Site, of course.

People, get your build numbers right if you are gonna talk about this stuff!

There is no 405, 409, or whatever.... It is 425, 429, 604, 632...  The confusing with all these leakes versions is already big enough...

Furthermore, everybody is talking about .429, but I yet have to see the first real file. Even on http://messenger.msn.com/beta there is no 429 (like mess.be reports) It still is 425...

Also, yes it might be crazy for MS to release a public build lower then an exitsing leaked beta. But remember that you aren't even suppose to use, heck know, builds >604 (unless you're a beta tester)... So don't go with all this bashing at MS, this is a normal way of development and it is the leakers you should be bashing...
