I do have myself in my contact list... but I removed myself and it doesn't make a difference. I still see:

[Contact's name] (Bios) (Afwezig)

(Bios is his custom status and Afwezig = Away)

The behaviour you're experiencing with beta .632 is thecorrect one for Messenger 7. For the other, you'll just have to wait the final release of Messenger 7 to see the status tags properly

So is this a Messenger issue rather than a Plus issue?

i have the same problem!!!
but if my memory doesn't fail me, it was working FINE when i started using the latest versions of both MSN n Msg Plus!

but tdy i notice i have that problem.. anyone care to shed some light?

i got my friend to check for me as well..

so msn7 has been officially released. i tried the personalised status as this is my favourite mod.

but it still doesn't work! lol..

there are sooo many changes since the beta version. now there's personalised message for your contacts. and "what i'm listening to"

so many changes but personalised status still doesn't work! anyway remedies in the pipeline?

well i dont see any problems here with my msnmessenger/msgplus  well im looking forward to the update of msgplus 3.50 to 3.51) hopefully there will be some changes or bugs that have been fixed

Personalised statuses work very fine with Messenger 7 Final. Personalised statuses show with a grey color in the contact list, the only difference is that the real Messenger status is now kept displayed at the end of the string .

yeah. thats the thing. i greatly prefer the real status to be hidden. thats the beauty of personalised status in the first place isn't it? sigh.. y did microsoft have to go and fix something that wasn't broken? it was HELPING them man!

well, as the real status is displayed at the very end of the name, why would it really matter if it's there or not?

cuz it looks bad that way? i don't want to see away when i can see Sleeping...  please fix it up patchou
