O.P.  Contact Name Colours Depending on Status
Would it be possible to implement that if the contact is say "Online" then his / her contact name colour would be green, Offline red, etc.
(Apologies if afore mentioned, I did do a search  )

Maybe it's possible with a plugin?
I don't know if the Plugin API supports coloring the contactlist and reading user statusses...

The Plus! plugin API doesnt support it no, but it would be a very useful feature. It's possible to get a contact's status using the Messenger API, but afaik theres no way to change their name colours, Plus! itself would have to do this. |

Thanx for your replies, shame it could not be done with a plugin or I would look into doing so. Maybe it could be in the next version? Patchou?

it sound cool but I still belive it would be even cooler to put the colors depending of your groups!! who agrees?

You can do it by group, but you have to do each contact by hand.
Mine are sorted by gender. Pink=girls, blue=boys.  New/old kid on the block. |

I would love this option! Nothing outrageous, but just simple
online: black
away/brb/lunch: grey
Or something like that. Obviously Plus! would allow further customisatoin, but that's as far as I'd like it to go for me.
I find the new MSN 7 needs this feature even more than 6.x because the status of each person doesn't seem to stand out as much anymore.
Another similar option that I'd like would be to group by status
Online
Away/Brb/Lunch(/busy?)
Offline
Just little ideas that would save me having to look through a list of 20 contacts, most of which are not even at their computer.
