You could share folders and put the file in a shared folder on the other computer.

I think using shared folders is way easyer then USB cables or portable drives.
I guess you have a network connection between the computers, as they are in your house.

For this USB connection your going to need a long USB cable!

If you have xp it's easy, just right-click the folder you want to share and press Share and Security and there you can choose a share name. Then if both the computers are one the same Workgroup or Domain, you can see the folders at Start>My Network Locations. Or use the UNC path> press start> Run and type "\\REMOTECOMPUTERNAME\SHAREDFOLDERNAME"

The names of the buttons may vary as i don't have an english xp

If you are connected via the same network then don't send it via the internet or usb or that crap ;) :P, why not just send it directly to the other computer using the fast speed of your network!
If your using Windows XP, click on "my network places"
and see if you can see your other computer in there, if not you are going to have to setup both computers for sharing using the "network setup wizard" which u'll beable to find in "my network places" on the left hand side (windows xp). To share a folder right click on the folder and click "sharing and security" and the options are all in there :)
Segosa is newb.
