[ First of all ]
I hope this is the right forum to create this thread but i didn't find  a wishlist or a requests forum or something like that.

[ Now the suggestion ]
I have a problem / suggestion with  AutoAccept (one of my favorites features). Let me show you my problem.

I have several contacts, some are friends.. some are not "these friends".. and some contacts that I would wish not to have.
For those who are my friends, I don't care to auto-accept voice, webcam and files..
For the others, I wish to auto-accept files transfers only.
But I didn't find how to assign auto-accepts "permissions" in a per user fashion
Then... it would be great if I could choose which contacts enable auto-accept webcam.. which files transfers, which both, and even which contacts nothing.

If you press the button Filter Contacts, you can select the contacts you wish to enable auto-accept with



However it is not possible to select what kind of things you would like to accept

But what you say that can't be done is  exactly what I need.. choose what kind of things accept in a per user basis.

Maybe there's a plugin to achieve this???

To my knowledge you can't do that, so now you'll have to either enable or disable autoaccept... but i like the idea and Patchou should allow for further filtering of who gets what...

But just a suggestion... with all the viruses running around it might be good to stop autoaccept til there's a final fix for them...

That wouldn't be very fair to people who are intelligent enough not to run the files. Either way, MSNM has implemented a feature to block exes, pifs and any other virus like files, including wmv

wmv? that's dumb...

But isn't that just for the latest 7 versions? And I don't think you have to run those files... never got infected but that's what it sounds like...

After I knew that because an unchecked buffer a malformed jpg (or was png ) can contain a virus (now the bug is fixed in a security update and in the win xp sp2) nothing can surprise me....

Anyway.. my opinion is that the best solution to virus problem is not limiting the file transfer... but to have a good up to date antivirus.. (and a good firewall too) and of course, not executing / opening a suspicious file.
