O.P. Huh?  CD-ROM Help
ok I need help.

I want to reformat my other comp because windows was messed up and it no longer works. I wanted to save my stuff first. So I put in a 3 gig hardrive. But when I did that my cd rom dissapeared from the bios and the harddrive replaced it. Now I tryed everything on the hard drive (cable select, master and slave) but it still replaces it. So I went a head and moved all my files to the new drive not thinking it would hurt anything. When I removed the hard drive and went to format the main hard drive my cd rom no longer works. The lights stay on (on the cd rom) and nothing happends. I can't even open the cd rom and now it wont show in the bios. Is there a reset on a cd rom? How can I get it back?

Please help.

Did you accidentally unplug the power cable for your CD-Rom device? :)

RE: CD-ROM Help
When a light on a CD Rom stays on it means that the jumpers are on the incorrect set of pins then the IDE cable.

IDE Cable Settings

RE: CD-ROM Help
Check your power cables jumper settings and IDE Cables (Make sure the mobo end is plugged into the mobo)
Try switching some power cables around (This worked for me as a last resort on a PC i was fixing with the same problem.. Somthing was drawing the power away from the CD)
