I got a open conversation noticer from this contact (not certain whether this person is appearing offline, really offline or blocking me).

My contact is using msn 7 (last official beta version) while i using msn 6.2.0205 with stuffng 0.7.39.

With regards to my subject, does anyone know the reason behind this?

MSN Messenger 7 gives false information of opening Windows in a few situations. Like when it tries and downloads your display picture to put next to your name. OpenConversation tools no longer work, sorry. Also I recommend you and your contact upgrade to the new final version of MSN Messenger . Sorry to bear bad news, hope this helps.

Let me emphamize, this contact of mine IS NOT online in my contact list

Why?

It could be because this contact has blocked you or has his status at appear offline and opened a window or signed in and received your display picture.

This means the person has blocked you

so its kinda like a block checker in a sense? is there anyway to develop this into a blockchecker

cause the old way with the hole dont work no more cause it got fixed...could them downloading ur dp for their contact list be used and them offline to calculate if your blocked?

I think Messenger Discovery does this.. This is the way the Blcok Checker in MD works.. AFAIK!!!

As I said, it also happens now when the person is apearing offline...

With MSn 6 it did not open when appearing offline, havn't tested it with MSN 7 but did not think they would've changed that...

Also Polygamy isn't working very well, so can't be bothered to test

it doesn't. i already told you in another thread, it doesn't. you can not open switchboard sessions while appearing offline
