A new design e.g. logo's but they look as though they are coming along fine

Also i dont want to be in a conversation to use certain features like e-mail notication.

I do think your site has the information but it does need a new design. I could do it if you want as well but i'll probably do a quick job and it would have the design of my site Which isnt that good

when Contact Statuses change, it would be great if the popup was clickable to start a conversation with that person.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but maybe you could put an option in so that when a status change popup appears, the name could be the custom name from plus! It's just that when I have my contact list showing custom names, I don't know who people are by their screen name.

Btw, I think Phoenix is a great plugin!
