The problem stems from how the settings are stored. SOme are stored on a per-user basis, some are global to every user.
Out of interest, what version of WEindows do you have? if XP, do you and your brother use the same user account?

If you put the files in the right place, then yes.
To create a new account, use Control Panel (Classic View) > User Accounts

lol, right click any folder you want to not be seen by other user accounts click "sharing and security" then click "make this folder private". Then only the contents of that folder can be seen by you

RE: hi, i am new
Welcome to the commuity.
You need to create seperate user accounts for your brothers.
To do this in windows XP, You go to.
Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Create new account.
This will store your files into sperate places which will be somthing like
C:/Documents And settings/xxUserxx/xxUserxxs documents/Messenger recieved files.
You dont need to navigate to there, when you open my documents folder in your own account (Or recieved files etc) It will go straight there.
Hope that cleared everything up for you.
