O.P. Plus! doesn't start up
sorry to bother everyone again.
everytime i restart my computer i find out that Plys! doesn't automatically start up with msn and i have to keep on installing it again and again. it will not permantly stay there if i restart or switch off my computer and turn it back on the next day.
i found out that one time i stopped the process and i think that is the reason it won't start up with msn.
help please?

RE: Plus! doesn't start up
In the Main MSN Messenger window, go to Plus! > preferences... > General Options > Miscellaneous and on the "Messenger Plus! Automatic Recovery Options" dropdown box (Messenger Attach Method), try alternate mode.
If that doesn't work, then try the default mode - forced.

RE: Plus! doesn't start up
Please try enabling "alternate mode" again and make sure you restart your computer right away... if it still doesn't work, then another progrma on your computer is messing around with your registry (like an agressive anti-spyware program for example).

RE: Plus! doesn't start up
Are you installing Messenger Plus on a Windows account that has administrative capabilities (an administrator account). Or a limited account. If you are unsure, ask someone else who uses the computer and has an administrator account to install it, and see if that fixes it.

RE: Plus! doesn't start up
I'm not entirely sure if this is correct, so someone correct me if necessary. Just thought I'd say this because it worked for me.
This happened to me when I had msnmsgr.exe running from a directory other than C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger/
When i moved it back to this directory, plus! started fine.

Patchou didn't say that the conflict could be an adware or spyware program, but he said that the conflict could be an anti-spyware program, aka the one you used for scanning for example... Such anti-spyware programs can be very aggresive (and can cause more problems then adware/spyware itself in a way) to prevent other programs to function properly...
