There's something wrong with IE, it seems that it doesn't support CSS, cause all pages with CSS are looking abnormal. And also MSN doesn't look good:

Any ideas?

do you have this problem since you have msn messenger 7?
if yes maybe your PC doesn't suport the graphics of msn

but i don't know what IE as to do with MSN

Try installing the latest updates for your graphics card.
Re-install MSN Messenger.
Restart you PC.
