i opened a 2nd msn messenger session (obviously with polygamy)

opened a window in the first session - everythigns fine

after that, opened a window in the 2nd session - it closed

hover my mouse over the icon of the 2nd session in the systray and it disappeared

only 1 session running now

so i killed plus! in the process list in task manager, did the above steps and everything was fine

then i ran plus! again and did the above steps, same error

Edit: woops i forgot to mention my stats

Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600 (SP2)
Messenger Client Version: 7.0.0732
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.50.0124


Edit2: I unticked Plus! > Preferences > Instant Messages > Enhance the toolbars with Messenger Plus! features on both accounts and everything ran normal...

Edit3: I then reticked them, everything worked fine

now after exiting BOTH messengers

starting them up again and following the same steps as the original post, problem persists

With the "Enhance the toolbars with Messenger Plus! features" checked MSN crashes when trying to open a dialog with another contact. Polygamy isn't the problem on my pc. I can run multiple MSN's but when I open a dialog MSN chrashes.

With the option disabled MSN works just fine.

Going to try the latest MSN now.

edit 1: after installing MSN 7.0.0.732 MSN still craches when trying to open a message dialog with one of my contacts. With the "Enhance toolbars" function disabled MSN works like a charm.
With the latest MSN installed the polygamy option in StuffPlug-NG doesn't work any more so I guess it isn't a polygamy issue. I've no other polygamy patch installed (yet).

Are you all using StuffPlug or JrnzLoader to pollygammy, or are you using a patched version of MSN Messenger?

If you are using a patch that directly changes how MSN Messenger works it can cause bugs like this, due to the fact that the client wasn't designed to be totally compatable with plus. However StuffPlug or JrnzLoader doesn't patch anything, which is less likely to cause problems.

I haven't patched my MSN. With the older version I used StuffPlug to polygamy MSN.

Stuffplug for version 7.0.0732 doesn't work for polygamy.. you need an additional patch to patch it

darn, still got more or less the same problem.

Got MSN polypatched with the latest Stuffplug but one of the 2 still keeps crashing. Don't know why.

Also tried a universal patch from http://www.mastaline.com/ but one of the 2 messengers still crashes.

But it isn't the plus option any more that's causing this crash. Anyone else with a simular problem?

The latest Stuffplug-NG is what works for polygamy

Uninstall the current one you got, download and install the latest one and there you go.

I can run multiple messengers but 1 of the 2 keeps crashing as soon someone tries to send me something or I open a message dialog...

All i can think of is to try a different polygamy patch and see if that fixes the problem.

hmm I completely uninstalled msgplus and polypatched msn and it works now... (without plus)

I'll try a reinstall now.
