Hiya people,
If anyone can help me with this, i'd be ever so grateful!

I bought a webcam the other day but it won't seem to work with msn, when I go into the cam settings it says: You cannot change your camera setting because either your camera is not plugged in or you are using it in a video conversation with another program.
I can see myself in the Audio/Video tuning wizard but not when I go into webcam settings (It then says more or less the same as above)

I have no idea why, please could you help me.

Did the camera come with software or drivers
Is the camera plugged in
Have you checked the manufactuers website for drivers

does ur cam works with other programs.. (other than msn msngr)??

Yeah, it came with the CD to install the cam.
I haven't tried it with any other program, I only really wanted it for msn.
What I can't understand is that it works in the Audio/Video Tuning Wizard thing but then when I go into webcam settings it doesn't display anything.

check it in device manager that does ur camera is installed properly or not....
in xp u can check it by right clicking on my computer icn then properties>hardware>device manager>imaging device.. does ur cam appear or not..??

Yep, it shows up in there. I'm just gonna restart the pc now to see what I can do.
Any other ideas you can think of?

try to reinstall the driver and see if u problem solved or not...

can u see ur cam in the drop down menu of the audio/video tunning wizard...
to see this.. open msn msngr contact list.>tools>audio/video tunning wizard>next> select ur cam then next thn see if it shows the preview of ur cam or not...? if yest then for the further setting follow the screen then again try to acces the webcam setting from msn msngr contact list....

Tried that...I can see myself perfectly clear in the Audio/Video tuning wizard but when I then click on the Webcam settings it's all grey with the buttons grey too and it ways:

I don't have a clue whats wrong with it, i've even gone into the photo software that I got with the camera but and image won't show up on there either.

as i mentioned above .. try to reinstall the drivers and plz tell me that wich windows do u use and ur software configuration.. and also which webcam do u use (with complete model no.)

I've tried re-installing the drivers several times.
The camera is a Trust 120 Spacec@m
I have Windows XP and i'm not really sure what you mean by software config.
