Hey,

I just switched to MSN7 and this weird thing occured.

Everything seems to be working fine, its just that i cant open chat dialogs anymore when i double click on someone's name and want to talk to them.

I'm using MSN v7.0.0813 and MSGPlus v3.52.130.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to fix this?

Sorry, not sure what could be causing this. Only thing I could recommend would be to do a clean install of MSN again. Uninstall it first, then reinstall. Then post back to tell us whether it's still happening.

Does it only happen when you double click? Does it happen if you right click and send an instant message?

You need to quickly double click. This has been posted a few times

go to control panel > mouse > change the double click speed.

mwe99: My double clicking speed is fine, and i can surely  click fast enough .. i tried all that.

monster.rat: It works fine when i do right click on their names > start conversation.

I can try a full install, i just hope i wont lose all my custom smilies that way.

Oh and btw i also just noticed outlook express takes ages to start up now... dont know if it has anything to do with it, but upgrading to msn 7 is the only thing i did until these things started to occur so...

Ill do a new install and get back to you guys.

Try looking in this thread for a solution.

Hrmm, weird how losing the display pictures of others would change the speed of the windows opening.

Anyway, i looked into double clicking it again and when i double clicked it like crazy it did open.

So you guys were right.

I lowered my double click speed now and it works fine.

I could still see if Unchecking that option will improve things even better though.

Though now theres still the problem of outlook express taking very long to start up
