everyone (almost) says that IE sux, and it does. But what about netscape? i've googled but didn't find anything decent about it. I personnaly haven't used it since 2000. I've also heard that firefox is based on netscape. is it true?

Newscape isn't as popular as Firefox, so I would say FF is better.

FF isn't based on Netscape, though they share the same basic engine...
The Mozilla Foundation is the organisation responsible for the Gecko layout engine. This forms the base of the Mozilla Suite and Mozilla Firefox. Netscape is based around the Mozilla Suite.
