in a conversation window hold CTRL + SHIFT and press then = key (left of backspace ) then type, its really small but normal when you send it

I think it mabbe there cause if there is some one pops up next to u and u dont want them to c what ur typing then ....

Don't even need SHIFT.

it does it in Word too, i think it just makes the text subscript

but it sends it as normal text..

maybe its because that box is a rich text box, and its just a feature of rich text boxes, and since it makes no difference really they didnt bother to get rid of it.

yea i think Ctrl + = is a standard shortcut to enable subscript text, but it sends it fine as the Messenger protocol doesnt support it, it only send font details like size colour etc, not italic, bold and subscript etc
