Im on my Aunties pc. and when i connect to the internet it comes up this

Y does it do this. And how can i stop this???

thats the Messenger service, (noting to do with Windows/MSN messenger) and it is typcally used in business use to cdommunicate between omputers, but in your case it is bein gused to send

You can disable by running servcies.msc and disbaling Messenger Service.

i noticed this problem. it disappeared afer i installed windows XP service pack 1

yea i think SP1 disabled the Messenger Service by default

I thought it was SP2 that turned it off by default?

I don't think it was, because I used to get those, and Service Pack 1 prevented them from appearing, they're really annoying, all of my mates get them all the time...
