It's about the protection of newbie computer users.

To be honest, use Spybot's Hosts file feature. It blocks all the known spyware/adware sites, but not MsgPlus.net.

Yeah I know. I've been using it since I first started to learn about spyware/adware etc. But now I think I know a fair bit about them, I'll just stick to Spybot and Spyware Blaster, and my own.

If you ask me, i think its the up themselves "experts" that need protecting. Most people who have a bit of experience with computers will think that accept/decline thing is just another licence agreement for the program. Most will not read this.
New users will read every part thoughly and then choose.

If you asked me, it is a little bit decieving having it as an accept/decline thing, because most will click accept straight away, and then complain that it has spyware.

It could be changed, but i guess you want to make money.

Well, said like that, of course it doesn't sound good... but if you join screenshots to your arguments:





As you can see, the setup of Messenger Plus! uses 6 ways to prevent any user to click "I accept" without understanding what they are doing. If some people cannot read what's written in bold while the Next button is disabled and cannot see the big screenshot of the search bar above the agreement, then I don't see how I could help them.

If you have some suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.

There aren't many more ways to "dumb it down". You have already done so much so the user doesn't accidently install it.

I guess the only thing you could do is make a big dialog popup explaining what is happening. Because the way I see it, when people see the EULA, they automatically just click next.

Very true. Not many people even take a glance at the EULA. They just skip it and press "Next". Most of my friends do this. Probably at least half of the people who download Plus! do this as well. There's not much more you can do :\

Patchou i have posted a suggection in this thread. Here is what i said:

Where does that tiny (5) tab lead? That's the only thing I myself didn't notice.

Althought that appears to be an older version in the images.

Not that I opted in for the 'schpiele' anyway.

It opens a BIG seperate window where the sponsor agreement is shown (in case people find the smaller default window too small)

Everything which could be done has been done to make the user read what he is installing. And "stupidity can't be fixed" to say it in a rude way... wbt, flashing text is very ugly and even more difficult to read (hence flashing text on website is not recommended either, but that's going off topic )
