O.P. Emoticons on contact list
I used to be able to see the emoticons in peoples names on my contact list but since about a week ago, i haven't been able to! It's the same with names when people are talking to me.

Please help, I know this isn't essential but it makes their names a lot easier to read!:S

you probably activated the custom names feature in plus!

go to Plus! -> Preferences -> Contact List -> Custom Names
and uncheck Enable custom contact names (activates "view by email")

then, if only e-mail addresses show up, go to Contacts -> Manage Contacts -> View Contacts By -> Display name
